Job Description Senior Analyst – 10 month Fixed term Responsibilities Providing technical leadership that strengthens responsiveness and maintains high technical standards. Enable usable access to data through robust data engineering, automated reporting, and clear stewardship of business rules, while lifting team capability through peer coaching and mentoring. Leading the transition to an insights‑led operating model by changing how data products are designed and delivered. Embed practices that move the Ministry beyond traditional data warehousing toward actionable, value‑focused insights. Supporting mandatory outputs across the Ministry by delivering timely, accurate datasets, and repeatable reporting. Lead regular business intelligence reporting and ad‑hoc analysis to inform operational and strategic decision‑making aligned with Ministry priorities and government targets. Qualifications & Experience Proven experience providing technical leadership in analytical or data‑focused teams Advanced skills in SAS, SQL and Power BI Strong data engineering and data modelling capability Ability to move between technical detail and high‑level insight, from data extraction to storytelling Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, changing environment with strong attention to detail Nice to have Experience working in cloud‑based data environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) Exposure to change initiatives or modernising analytical ways of working Education A tertiary degree in a relevant field What’s great about working here A place you can be yourself A team with a strong supportive culture Opportunities to learn and develop Competitive salary package Benefits 4.4 weeks holiday leave an online professional development portal access to a variety of inclusive and proactive networks Salary The appointing salary for this role will be between $111,766 and $154,680 based on skills and experience.
