Overview Whitireia and WelTec are seeking a number ofpassionate and qualified Design Tutors for exciting teaching opportunities inChina. In these roles, you will deliver a range of courses from the Bachelor ofCreativity (Digital Media & Design and Animation). Each course is deliveredin block mode over 4 weeks. Depending on your subject expertise, contractsrange from 4 to 12 weeks, with teaching taking place between Septemberto December 2026. Subject Areas: We are recruiting tutors for the followingareas: Animation(After Effects) ImageMaking / Drawing (mostly analogue) WebDesign (Figma) StopMotion (Photoshop, After Effects) Responsibilities As a Design Tutor, you will lead engaging andpractical tutorials that captivate and educate students. Course materials thatinspire and challenge learners is supplied. Creating a welcoming and inclusiveclassroom environment is crucial, as is mentoring students and supporting theiracademic journeys. You will work with translators and/or other design educatorsin the classrooms, assess student performance, providing constructive feedbackthat helps them grow and succeed in their studies. Qualifications To be successful, you must be available to travelto China for one month durations during September to December 2026. A relevant Master’s degree, for example MDes, or min. Bachelors’ degree(Hons) in design or a related field is required, along with some teaching or tutoring experience, preferably at the polytechnic or university level. Industry experience is also of benefit, and while travel experience ispreferable, it is not mandatory.
