Job Description
Sonographer, Nelson Hospital, Permanent Full-time Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders. About the Role We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sonographer to join our Radiology team at Nelson Hospital on a permanent full‑time basis, working 80 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE). In this role, you will deliver a safe, high‑quality ultrasound service within a clinical environment, completing full examinations and recommending appropriate techniques to support patient care. This position involves rostered and rotating shifts Monday to Sunday, with start and finish times between 8.00 am and 9.00 pm. There is no formal on‑call requirement, however best‑endeavours support may be required for acute criteria. Preference will be for a 1.0 FTE position; however, all applicants are welcome to apply with ability to work dual scope in general x‑ray if you wish. You will also be adaptable, versatile, and comfortable working in a constantly changing clinical environment.
