Pivotal role supporting the Disability Programme. Location: Wellington. Term: Fixed Term until 30 June 2027. In our work, we aim to demonstrate these values: We put Tamariki first We believe Aroha is vital We respect the Mana of people We are Tika and Pono We value Whakapapa We recognise that Oranga is a journey Mō te tūnga | About the role The Oranga Tamariki Disability Strategy was shaped through extensive engagement with the disability community, including tāngata whaikaha Māori, Pacific disabled people, care‑experienced young people, iwi and whānau. In September 2025, Te Riu (our Leadership team) endorsed a dedicated programme to support implementation of this Strategy – strengthening how we meet the disability needs and uphold the rights of tamariki, rangatahi, parents and caregivers. The Disability Programme focuses on improving practices and services, strengthening disability data and insights, building capability across all kaimahi, and enhancing our ability to advocate for change across the children’s and disability systems. The Senior Business Analyst role is to work within the programme to lead the design and development of business and technical requirements for embedding disability prompts throughout our case management system in a holistic and appropriate way. The Senior Business Analyst will take a people‑centred approach to ensure that what is designed and developed meets the needs of front‑line practice kaimahi, tamariki and rangatahi. Alongside this, the candidate will work closely with members of the workstream and programme, alongside stakeholders, to ensure requirements are validated and implementation considerations are well considered. The candidate will be part of a team building the implementation plan and guidance to support implementation (including appropriate measuring and evaluation approaches). We value lived experience of disability in our work. Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring Senior Business Analyst experience delivering complex change initiatives. First‑hand understanding of disability through lived experience, whānau experience, community involvement, or significant professional experience in the disability sector. Strong knowledge of disability models, accessibility, inclusion, and disability‑centred design principles. Proven ability to gather, analyse, and document business and technical requirements. Experience identifying and implementing business process and system improvements. Excellent stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, with the ability to build trust across diverse communities and delivery teams. Experience working across business, operational, frontline service and technology environments. Commitment to culturally responsive practice, including tikanga Māori and Pacific perspectives. Oranga Tamariki offers a step‑based remuneration package that offers progression annually based on experience.
