Job Description
Test Engineer – Digital Team We are seeking a Test Engineer to join the Digital team at Te Tāhū o te Ture | Ministry of Justice. This role sits within the Productivity & Collaboration Services Team and reports to the Technical Product Manager – Productivity. Responsibilities Ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of solutions delivered across Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Azure DevOps, and GitHub. Design and develop test plans and test strategies based on business and technical requirements. Create comprehensive test cases and scenarios to validate functionality and user experience. Execute manual and automated testing, including functional, regression, integration, and performance tests. Identify, log, prioritise, and manage defects and work closely with developers to reproduce issues and verify fixes. Build and maintain automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency and coverage. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and release readiness processes. Validate solutions against business and user requirements. Monitor system performance, reliability, and usability. Prepare test reports, provide quality metrics, and communicate findings to stakeholders. Maintain test environments and test data. Collaborate with CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing practices in a DevOps environment. Engage with technical and business teams to deliver clear, quality outcomes. Qualifications Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience). Relevant industry certifications and a commitment to ongoing professional development. Experience in designing test plans, creating test cases and test situations, and executing manual and automated testing. Strong understanding of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and release readiness. Knowledge of monitoring system performance, reliability, and usability. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Azure DevOps, and GitHub.
