60344 Technical Assistant - Vine Performance - Plant & Food Research Technical Assistant – Vine Performance Mt Albert, New Zealand Vacancy number: 60344 Minimum 2 hours per week What you will be doing | Ngā whāinga matua Monitor and maintain plant watering and irrigation systems. Support pest and disease control programmes, including spraying activities. Propagate and maintain healthy kiwifruit plant collections. Carry out plant care tasks including pruning, potting, training, and fertilising. Maintain clean, safe, and organised greenhouse and potting areas. Provide support with day‑to‑day greenhouse operations and deputy manager duties. To be successful in this role, the minimum qualifications required are: Strong plant husbandry skills, with a genuine interest in plants. Good understanding of plant care, including watering requirements (training provided). Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills. Confident communicator, able to work effectively with others. Physically fit and comfortable working in a greenhouse and outdoor conditions.
