Full time, Fixed term, Start Date: 24/08/2026, End Date: 16/12/2026 (New Entrant Growth Position) Certificated teacher, Area / composite (Years 1–15), Certificated teacher English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts We are a culturally rich and diverse Year 1–6 contributing primary school in Pukekohe, guided by our vision: Involve me and I learn, and our values of Aroha, Tika and Pono. We are looking for a kaiako who places learners at the centre, builds strong relationships with whaanau, and is committed to inclusive, culturally responsive practice. The successful applicant will be reflective, relational, and willing to grow as part of a growing collaborative new entrant teaching team. We are looking for a kaiako who: Has a genuine passion for teaching and learning in Year 0 / new entrant settings Builds warm, respectful and responsive relationships with learners, whaanau and colleagues Brings energy, empathy, flexibility and cultural responsiveness to their classroom practice Creates a calm, safe and engaging learning environment with clear expectations and positive behaviour strategies Uses effective early literacy and numeracy practices to support learner progress and confidence Is committed to explicit teaching, structured literacy and assessment for learning Is reflective, collaborative and willing to contribute positively to our school culture Demonstrates a strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally sustaining practice Understands the importance of transition to school and works in partnership with whaanau to support every learner’s sense of belonging, wellbeing and success.
