Job Description
About the Role Senior Health Clinician – Te Oranga O Nga Rito Role is based in the Whāngaia Ngā Pā Harakeke Team – Child Women and Family Service, Health New Zealand Waitematā. This fixed‑term position ends June 2027, with part‑time hours (0.4 FTE) and negotiable hours Monday to Thursday. The Senior Health Clinician will be actively involved in the daily Safety Assessment Meeting (SAM), sharing health information and contributing to safety plans alongside partner agencies. The role is based at the SAM tables, working from the Henderson Police Station and the Oranga Tamariki Takapuna site. Responsibilities Participate in multilateral decision‑making and safety planning during SAM meetings. Collaborate closely with statutory and community partners to coordinate inter‑agency responses. Deliver education and training to community agencies. Support service development, quality improvement, and reporting across programmes. Contribute to the development and implementation of family harm reduction strategies. Qualifications Registered Nurse or Registered Social Worker with a current annual practising certificate. Relevant tertiary qualification in health or social sciences. Minimum of five (5) years of post‑registration work experience. Post‑graduate education in child protection or family violence highly desirable. Experience working with children, families, and vulnerable populations in multidisciplinary or interagency settings.
