Job Description
About the role We are seeking a detail‑oriented Payroll & Accounts Officer to join our supportive team in Manurewa on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. This dynamic role combines end‑to‑end payroll management with providing general administrative and transactional support to the finance team. Reporting to the Payroll Team Leader, you’ll be the go‑to expert for all payroll matters, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with New Zealand employment legislation. What will you do Process payroll end‑to‑end for 200–300 wage employees and 100–150 salaried staff Maintain payroll governance and compliance, manage leave reconciliations, journals, and EOFY processes Ensure all payroll processes align with the Holidays Act 2003, KiwiSaver and other NZ legislation Keep payroll systems (ADP Payforce, ADP Realtime, Kronos, Workday) updated Assist with payroll reporting, audits, compliance and continuous improvement projects Collaborate with HR and Finance to keep everything moving smoothly Provide general administrative and transactional support to the finance team, including invoices, expenses and journal entries Assist with account reconciliations and month‑end activities as required About you 3–5 years of comprehensive payroll experience, ideally managing end‑to‑end payroll for 200+ employees Proven ability to process complex payrolls in accordance with the Holidays Act 2003 and NZ payroll legislation Experience with payroll systems such as ADP Payforce, ADP Realtime, Kronos, Time and Attendance, or Workday is an advantage Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset Advanced Excel skills and a high standard of data accuracy Strong problem‑solving abilities, track record of identifying and resolving system or data issues Proactive, collaborative team player who can also work independently Excellent time management, coordination and prioritisation skills, detail oriented and analytical Flexible, adaptable and customer‑focused with a positive, can‑do attitude Must have New Zealand residency or a valid NZ work visa with full work rights Why join us Hybrid role: 4 days in office, 1 day from home (initially full time in office during training) Career growth backed by a global organisation Work for a business that is conscious about environmental impact Employee Assistance Programme access for you and your immediate family Opportunity to join mentoring programmes Career development opportunities locally and globally Safe work environment with a focus on “Go for Zero” Contact: Harjot Dhody, +61 0419902624 Aliaxis is proud to be an equal opportunity employer who welcomes candidates and employees from all backgrounds.
