Job Description
Location & Overview Office based in Auckland, New Zealand. You will have a strong store presence across 65 stores in Zone 1. The opportunity This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive the operational excellence of our retail network in Zone 1 by managing both preventative and reactive facilities maintenance across the store fleet. As a critical link between store operations and service providers, you will ensure all locations remain safe, compliant, and efficient while keeping cost-of-doing-business (CODB) top of mind. Your proactive approach to asset lifecycle management and contractor relationships will directly impact the daily experience of millions of customers and team members. Ultimately, you will champion a culture of safety, innovation, and care within a leading retail environment. What You Will Do Coordinate and proactively facilitate work-orders, repairs, and maintenance across multiple store locations to ensure high-standard asset preservation. Monitor and manage facilities-related contracts, budgets, and KPIs with suppliers and third-party service providers to ensure cost-effective delivery. Collaborate with zone, group, and store leadership teams alongside internal support functions to foster open communication and meet business objectives. Identify and suggest innovative maintenance initiatives and cost-saving opportunities to improve store building fabric and asset procurement. Execute routine checks, audits, and safety compliance activities in alignment with Health and Safety acts, regulations, and codes of conduct. Implement contingency plans for potential risks and remain available to support incident management or natural disaster responses outside standard trading hours. What You Will Bring Demonstrated track record of at least 3 years of experience in multi-site facilities or maintenance operations, preferably within a fast-paced retail or customer-oriented environment. Proven expertise in contractor management, asset lifecycle management, and a background in a relevant trade or maintenance role. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to confidently provide guidance and feedback to leadership and external partners. Strict commitment to safety, possessing current OH&S qualifications and the ability to ensure 100% compliance with safe working activities and PPE. Excellent organizational and digital skills, including strong computer literacy and the ability to work effectively both unsupervised and within a team. Valid and current driver's licence alongside any required regulatory licences to successfully complete work functions across the state.
