About the Role As a Hospital Cleaner, you will help the hospital run smoothly by providing an efficient cleaning service for the patients and staff at Wairau Hospital. Offering morning and afternoon tea (drinks and snacks) Collecting meal trays from patients after each meal Mopping the floors using specific equipment which training is provided to use Cleaning offices, bathrooms and wardrooms Assisting other staff as requested Help the hospital stay a safe place where families can visit in comfort and staff can continue doing great work in a clean environment. Benefits and Working Conditions Permanent part‑time role, working 40 hours per fortnight (0.5 FTE) Monday to Friday 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM Hourly rates plus penalty rates for evening (after 8:00 PM) and weekend work, and additional payments/time off if rostered to work on a public holiday Full training will be provided About the Team / Service / Location You will be joining our team of nearly 60 who value teamwork and are committed to supporting the best possible health outcomes for our patients. About you / Requirements You will be suited to the role of Hospital Cleaner if you have experience in cleaning or customer service OR if you have no experience but a passion for seeing how the hospital ticks. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and can leave the hospital cleaned to a standard that leaves a positive impression on customers, patients and families. To be successful in this role you will: Have a positive can‑do attitude and apply that to everyday working tasks Be reliable and trustworthy Be a supportive team player who has the willingness to help each other out Have a customer‑focused approach where patients and customers are greeted in a friendly way Have the willingness to learn and be able to take on positive constructive feedback Full training will be provided.
