About the Role Point of Care Lead – Point of Care Testing Location: Princess Alexandra Hospital, CM20 1QX Contract/Hours: Permanent – 37.5 per week Salary: Up to £48,909 per annum, DOE inclusive of regional pay allowance. The main aim of the role is to be responsible for the provision of an efficient and effective Point of Care Testing (POCT) service provided by Health Services Laboratories to The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, providing managerial, operational and technical responsibility for the service. Key Responsibilities Line manage POCT Associate Practitioners. Produce monthly reports for key internal and external stakeholders. Chair departmental meetings and actively participate in external meetings. Schedule and deliver Link Trainer and user training, ensuring clinical staff are familiar with analytical procedures, maintenance and troubleshooting of POCT equipment through adequate training and competency assessment. Interpret Internal Quality Control (IQC) and External Quality Assessment (EQA) performance data and report to stakeholders. Work with the Quality Management Group to uphold the highest standards required by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Services). Lead new device validations, upgrades and changes within POCT. Lead on service development and expand service scope, with a view to extending into community settings in due course. Update and produce documentation within POCT.
