Teacher - Targeted Learning Support (Years 7–10) Part time, Fixed term, FTTE up to: 0.8, Start Date: 20/07/2026, End Date: 10/12/2026 (Special Project) Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher English, Mathematics and statistics Carmel College is a leading Catholic integrated school for girls in Years 7–13, located on Auckland’s North Shore. We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and relational teacher to join our team in a special project role focused on accelerating learning and improving outcomes for priority learners. This fixed-term special project position (0.8 FTTE) is an exciting opportunity to work across two key areas: Year 7–8 multilingual learners , supporting the development of English language skills so students can confidently access and engage with learning across the curriculum. Year 9–10 students requiring additional support in numeracy , delivering targeted teaching that builds foundational understanding, confidence, and achievement. Working primarily with small groups, you will design and deliver responsive, evidence-informed learning programmes that accelerate student progress. You will also develop, adapt and refine high-quality teaching and learning resources that respond to individual learner needs and support sustained achievement gains. We are looking for someone who: Is a registered teacher committed to equitable and inclusive outcomes for all learners. Has a passion for supporting diverse learners and accelerating progress. Builds warm, respectful, and high‑expectation relationships with students. Demonstrates effective, evidence-informed teaching practice. Is collaborative, reflective, and willing to innovate in response to learner needs. Has experience or interest in supporting multilingual learners and/or numeracy intervention (an advantage).
