About the Role We are looking for an experienced senior nurse to join our team to promote quality improvement and patient safety and facilitate and provide clinical education to the nursing staff at the Awhi Mātua Fraser McDonald Unit. Reporting directly to the Nurse Director, you will partner with the AM FMU Nurse Unit Manager, Charge Nurse as well as work alongside your fellow nurse educator colleagues to strengthen the nursing role and to support professional nursing workforce development across the mental health and addictions directorate as required. This is your opportunity to influence strategy by being part of the Nursing Leadership group for the Mental Health Services Team. About the Team/Service/Location Awhi Mātua Fraser McDonald Unit (FMU), Inpatient Mental Health Services for Older People, is a 15‑bed acute in‑patient ward located on the Auckland City Hospital site for people over the age of 65years experiencing acute mental illness or behavioural and psychological difficulties associated with dementia. About You You will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse with Level4PDRP and at least five years clinical practice as well as previous experience in senior nursing roles. It is desirable to have a high level of understanding of the continuum of care for service users and a commitment to the fundamental values and attitudes of modern mental health. You should be a committed professional with a well‑grounded clinical background. You will ideally have recently completed or be studying toward a relevant Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing practice or teaching. A Full NewZealand Driver's Licence is also essential.
