Job Description
Medical Imaging Technologist 0.8FTE fixed term maternity cover to 7th June 2027 at Taupo Hospital. We are seeking a New Zealand Registered Medical Imaging Technologist (MIT) to join our supportive, enthusiastic and professional team at Taupo Hospital, Waikato, NewZealand. About the role The position is suitable for an experienced MIT or a new graduate MIT. The successful candidate will be required to participate in out‑of‑hours evening and weekend shift roster, with overnight cover from an on‑call service. Team / Service / Location Taupo Hospital & Radiology Department is a small friendly rural hospital dedicated to providing excellent patient care and a quality radiology service. The hospital has an emergency department, an inpatient ward, a birthing unit and an outpatient department. The radiology department contains one general X‑ray room with a DR mobile unit, a Canon Prime SP CT scanner and an ultrasound suite. A small, highly skilled team services a mix of inpatients, outpatients, community‑referred and emergency imaging. The successful candidate will work across the general X‑ray department and participate in the shift and on‑call roster. About you Currently hold an Annual Practicing Certificate, or have applied for registration with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board. Good team player, friendly, approachable, flexible, able to work under pressure and communicate well with others. Able to work autonomously and independently, demonstrating critical thinking. Engaged in continued professional development and passionate about the role. CT experience is a bonus but not essential.
