Assist. HOD English and Literacy Coordinator Full time, Permanent Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher English 1MU + 2MMAs Papakura High School is seeking an assistant head of English who will also have responsibility as the literacy coordinator within the school. We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative person who is looking to make a difference in young people’s lives by supporting them to achieve academically and in life. You will be comfortable teaching all levels of the NZ curriculum and have a genuine passion for raising student achievement and a commitment to culturally responsive and relationship-based pedagogy. You will have the skills to build meaningful relationships with students, staff and whānau. You will engage with the school’s culture and values and look for opportunities to build and extend student knowledge. This is an exciting opportunity to teach in a well-resourced and supported teaching environment in a school that is growing in numbers. You will also have the opportunity to engage in project-based learning that is responsive to the interests and career aspirations of our tauira. Experience working in a high equity index kura or similar environment would be an advantage. New Zealand teacher registration and certification is a prerequisite for this position. The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $62k to $105k depending on the applicant's qualifications and experience. Individuals actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed. This position will commence on 20 August 2026 or as soon as possible by negotiation. #J-18808-Ljbffr
