Job Overview Location: Tauranga Hospital; Permanent Part‑time 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week). About the Role Health Care Assistant (HCA) on Acute Medical Ward 4M based at Tauranga Hospital. Working under a highly motivated nursing team, you will provide comprehensive, quality care to patients with complex medical conditions. The role offers opportunities to deepen patient‑care experience in a supportive, high‑performing environment. About the Team / Service / Location Ward 4M is a dynamic Acute Medical Ward specialising in respiratory, cardiac and metabolic conditions with a focus on early‑stage rehabilitation. It fosters a culture of Manaakitanga and Whanaungatanga, where HCAs are integral to the clinical team. The Bay of Plenty provides a professional and lifestyle balance, with beaches, forest walks and a strong community outside the hospital walls. About You You are an experienced, compassionate individual with a patient‑focused mindset. Your strengths include teamwork, resilience and clear communication. What We Are Looking For Experience: Ideally, a Level3 or4 NZQA Health and Wellbeing Certificate (or equivalent). Resilience: Ability to remain calm in an acute medical environment where patient needs can change rapidly. Communication: Fluent English is essential; a basic understanding of TeReo Māori or Tikanga Māori is highly valued. Team Spirit: A can‑do attitude – someone who responds promptly to a call bell.
