The role | Te tūnga In this role, you will engage closely with branch teams to understand business drivers and provide security input into planning activities, roadmaps, and business case development. You will deliver informed security guidance to project teams, architects, and technology partners, helping to shape decisions across systems, services, and change initiatives. You may also undertake certification and accreditation activities, including security design reviews, risk assessments, control validation audits, security testing, and reporting. As a senior member of the practice, you will provide mentoring and support to Security Consultants, contributing to the ongoing uplift of security capability across the organisation. Experience providing security consulting services and delivering security solutions aligned to organisational and regulatory requirements Building and maintaining relationships across a diverse range of business units Knowledge in one or more security domains (e.g. architecture, assurance, risk management, cyber, information, or physical security) Strong ability to contribute to collaborative discussions and navigate differing viewpoints to reach practical outcomes Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, applying structured thinking to business and technology challenges Experience supporting or leading assurance, certification, or accreditation activities Ability to obtain and maintain a Confidential security clearance At the Department of Internal Affairs, we are committed to offering a collaborative and innovative culture where your perspective and ideas will be welcomed.
