Nurse Specialist National Intestinal Failure and Rehabilitation Service (NIFRS)Starship – New Zealand’s premier children's hospital Outstanding senior nursing leadership opportunity – permanent, part‑time (0.5FTE) position. About the role We are seeking an innovative, enthusiastic and experienced nurse to join our friendly team as a Nurse Specialist in a permanent, part‑time (0.5FTE) capacity. The Nurse Specialist is an advanced nursing speciality practice and is an expert in assessment skills, diagnostic reasoning, knowledge of management options and monitoring underpinning practice. They have specialist knowledge of complex conditions which is central to the role. Case management and coordination of the patient and their whanau with health professionals, inpatient areas and intersectorially is integral. They will be an expert navigating health systems. About the Service The New Zealand National Intestinal Failure and Rehabilitation Service (NIFRS) is designed to improve outcomes for patients of all ages with intestinal failure (IF). The purpose of NIFRS is to ensure equitable access to IF services for patients and their families, create standards of care and clinical management protocols for IF, improve communication and coordination of care for patients and their families, advocate for IF patients and their families and provide data that will improve quality of care for patients with IF. To be successful you will: Be an experienced paediatric registered nurse or have senior nurse experience in a related field. Have registration with the NZ Nursing Council with current APCH. Have a proficient or expert level Professional Development Recognition Programme (PDRP) portfolio or equivalent. Preferably have a Masters degree or a postgraduate diploma. Have experience in a leadership role with a strong commitment to quality healthcare. Have excellent communication and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work in a bi‑cultural environment.
