Skill Set: Network Support Technician level 1 Language: English Roll Type: Dispatch Location: Putaruru, New Zealand Days per week: On-Demand Contract: B2B/Freelance Job Summary We are seeking a Network Support Technician Level 1 (NW L1) to provide first-line support for network infrastructure, connectivity issues, and end-user network-related incidents. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of networking concepts and experience supporting enterprise network environments. Key Responsibilities Monitor network infrastructure and respond to network alerts and incidents. Troubleshoot basic LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN connectivity issues. Provide first-level support for routers, switches, access points, and firewalls. Configure and support network devices under senior engineer guidance. Perform cable patching, port activation, and basic network installations. Create, update, and manage incident tickets through the ticketing system. Escalate complex network issues to Level 2/Level 3 teams. Assist with user onboarding, network access requests, and permissions. Support network documentation and asset management activities. Perform routine health checks and maintenance activities. Required Skills Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and Subnetting. Understanding of LAN/WAN and Wireless Networking concepts. Experience with Cisco, HPE Aruba, Juniper, Meraki, or similar networking equipment. Familiarity with Windows operating systems and basic Active Directory. Experience using ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or ManageEngine. Knowledge of network monitoring tools is an advantage. Strong troubleshooting and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications CCNA (Preferred but not mandatory). 1–3 years of experience in Network Support or IT Infrastructure Support.
