Expression of Interest | Multiple locations across New Zealand We’re seeking experienced Senior Hydraulics & Fire Protection Engineers to join our Buildings team. This opportunity is suited to engineers who are motivated by technical leadership, complex problem solving and client impact, and who are ready to take accountability for delivering high-quality building services outcomes across a diverse portfolio of projects. Working as part of our national Hydraulics & Fire Protection team, you will play a key role in shaping design outcomes, guiding technical direction and mentoring others, while collaborating closely with colleagues and clients across New Zealand, Australia and Asia Pacific. This is a national Expression of Interest, and we are open to discussing location based on your experience, project alignment and flexibility. About The Role Lead and deliver complex hydraulics and fire protection designs across commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects Take ownership of projects from early planning and concept design through to detailed design and construction support Provide technical guidance, review and verification of work produced by other engineers Build strong, trusted relationships with clients through understanding their business drivers, risks and priorities Contribute to effective delivery through sound judgement around programme, scope, budget and risk Mentor and coach engineers across the discipline, supporting capability development through inclusive, supportive leadership and knowledge sharing Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Beca’s national and Asia Pacific network About You You’re an experienced Hydraulics & Fire Protection Engineer with a background in consulting environments and experience contributing to and leading complex building services projects. You Will Bring Demonstrated technical expertise within hydraulics and/ or fire protection, with the confidence to act as a technical authority Experience leading technical delivery, coordinating workloads and verifying the work of others Strong construction monitoring and stakeholder engagement capability The ability to mentor, delegate and positively influence peers and junior team members Sound commercial awareness, including risk management, programme and budget considerations A tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline Professional registration or progress toward chartership is preferred While experience across both Hydraulics and Fire Protection is ideal, we are open to candidates with deep expertise in a single discipline.
