Sports Administrator - Cycling New Zealand Join us to grow cycling in Aotearoa. Are you passionate about sport, community connection, and delivering great participant experiences? Cycling New Zealand is looking for a proactive and people-focused Sports Administrator to support administering licensing and assist in the delivery of events that help our sport thrive. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of cycling in New Zealand – supporting competitive cycling from Schools Cycling through to national level, while helping create positive, safe, and engaging experiences for riders across Aotearoa. About the role As our Sports Administrator, you’ll play a key role in coordinating events and managing licensing activities. You’ll be a go-to support for participants, clubs, and stakeholders – helping ensure our systems, processes, and event delivery run smoothly and professionally. What you’ll be doing Licencing & Customer Support Manage inbound enquiries across email and phone, providing excellent service Administer licensing processes (domestic, technical, and international) Support continuous improvement of the licensing experience Events & Communications Maintain the national cycling events calendar Support event marketing, communications, and sponsorship activity Event Delivery & Operations Coordinate delivery of Tier 4 events and support Tier 1–3 events Coordinate event entries, systems, and administration Embed safeguarding and health & safety practices into event delivery Relationships & Community Engagement Build strong relationships with schools, partners, and participants Support development of officials (Commissaires) and volunteers Work alongside Member Organisations to strengthen engagement Contribute to participation initiatives for tamariki and rangatahi About you You’ll bring energy, organisation, and a genuine passion for people and sport. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and take pride in delivering high-quality experiences. We’re looking for someone with 2–3 years’ experience in sports events or similar administration roles Strong customer service and communication skills High attention to detail and strong organisational skills Confidence working with databases and digital platforms A proactive, solutions-focused mindset Ready to apply?
