Job Description
Programme Coordinator, Technology & Data Join our diverse and talented people and work at the heart of national security, providing essential intelligence to the NZ government to protect New Zealand and its people. We have a 2 year fixed‑term opportunity for a Programme Coordinator to join our Technology & Data team. In this role, you will bring your experience to help deliver the outcomes on complex programmes that will shape the future of our organisation. Working side‑by‑side with Project Managers and Delivery Leads, you will help keep things on track, to budget, and within scope. Your knack for strong organisation, proactive communication and attention to detail will ensure that strategic ideas are turned into tangible, real‑world results. What you will be doing: Coordinate and run project meetings, workshops and stakeholder events to keep teams aligned and informed. Keep all project artefacts up‑to‑date – schedules, risk registers, action logs and documentation repositories. Produce and circulate regular status reports, dashboards and performance metrics for senior leadership. Support Project Managers and Delivery Leads in tracking milestones, budgets and resource allocations. Spot potential issues early and help the team put corrective actions in place quickly. Build and nurture strong relationships across the Technology & Data Directorate and with external partners to ensure seamless collaboration. Continuously look for ways to improve coordination processes and tools, championing a culture of efficiency and excellence. Ko wai koe – about you You’re a proactive, detail‑focused coordinator with demonstrable experience rolling up your sleeves alongside Programme and Project Managers on technology projects. You will bring along your project‑administration know‑how, clear‑cut communication skills and a calm, confident ability to thrive when the pressure is on. What you’ll bring to the team: Hands‑on experience – supporting technology projects, keeping plans, budgets and artefacts (status reports, risk registers) up‑to‑date. Methodology savvy – Working knowledge of PRINCE2 and Agile (formal qualification a bonus). Tech‑tool proficiency – Advanced MS Office skills and fluency with information‑management / communication platforms. Self‑starter attitude – Innovative, able to work independently and build productive relationships across the wider team. Organisational excellence – Strong workload‑management, sound judgment and a reputation for integrity and ethics. Communication chops – Clear, concise written and oral communication; comfortable meeting tight deadlines under pressure. Education – Tertiary qualification in business administration (or equivalent experience); additional project‑delivery or technology certifications are a plus. The expected appointing range for this position is: $87,048 - $92,851.
