The Opportunity You’ll be part of a highly capable Automation team working on end‑to‑end delivery of industrial process automation solutions. From PLC programming to on‑site commissioning, you’ll gain exposure across: Dairy and food processing Water and wastewater treatment Refrigeration systems Machine and manufacturing control Based in Timaru, you’ll work both on‑site and remotely with regional clients—designing, developing, and supporting modern control systems tailored to real industry needs. What You’ll do This is an active, hands‑on engineering role that includes: PLC/HMI development using platforms like Schneider, Rockwell, AVEVA, and Ignition Writing process function descriptions and designing plant‑wide control strategies Data collection, database configuration, and real‑time system integration Client engagement from concept and costing through to commissioning and ongoing support Mentoring junior team members, contributing to a culture of knowledge sharing and growth. What We’re Looking For We’re seeking a skilled automation or control systems professional with: 3‑5+ years of post‑graduate experience Proven competency in industrial automation and process control Strong understanding of client‑focused project delivery A collaborative mindset, plus the confidence to work independently when needed Willingness to join our paid on‑call roster for after‑hours industrial support. Preferred technical experience includes Schneider – EcoStruxure Control Expert Rockwell – Studio5000 AVEVA (Wonderware) – System Platform Inductive Automation – Ignition systems We welcome candidates who’ve gained significant industry experience—even outside of traditional degrees—who are now delivering at an Intermediate to Senior level.
