Senior BAS Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior BAS Accountant to join a growing professional services firm in Pukekohe. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accounting professional who is ready to take on greater leadership responsibilities while contributing to business growth and client success. The role combines hands on accounting and advisory work with team leadership, mentoring, and operational support. You will work closely with the General Manager to drive branch performance, enhance client relationships, and support the ongoing development of the team. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, and GST returns. Act as a trusted advisor to a portfolio of business clients. Support the General Manager in managing branch performance, workflow, and key performance indicators. Mentor, coach, and develop team members while effectively delegating work. Contribute to business development initiatives and generate new client opportunities. Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and operational efficiency. Ensure high quality technical delivery and compliance standards are maintained. What Success Looks Like Strong personal and team productivity with efficient workflow management. Proactive identification and implementation of business improvement initiatives. About You Proven experience as a Senior Accountant within a CA, BAS, or public practice environment. Leadership experience or the desire and capability to step into a management role. Strong technical knowledge of New Zealand tax, compliance, and business advisory services. Commercially minded with a passion for helping businesses succeed. Excellent communication, relationship management, and mentoring skills.
