The role: We are looking for a number of skilled and enthusiastic tanker drivers to join our milk collection operation collecting milk for Synlait. Based out of Synlait’s Christchurch plant (Dunsandel), you’ll be a key part of the farm-to-factory dairy supply chain moo ving milk s moo thly around the South Island, making sure every collection and delivery is safe, efficient, and compliant. What you’ll be doing: You’ll be out on the road collecting milk and delivering it safely to processing sites, keeping one of NZ’s most important industries moving. Completing sampling + quality checks. Using in-cab tech for runs, records, and compliance. Pre/post trip checks and safe operation at all times. Building solid relationships with farmers. Working across varied routes from main highways to gravel tracks to rural backroads. Delivering excellence every time. Maintaining a commitment to safety, vehicle care, and customer service - upholding the high standards our farmers and suppliers expect. Work pattern: Fixed-term (from Sept 2026 - end Feb 2027) full-time roles with a rotating 3/3/3 roster: 3 days on, 3 nights on, 3 days off. Average shift: 10–12 hours. What you will bring to the table: Class 5 Licence (non-negotiable) with 3 years+ experience driving truck and trailer. Prior experience and confidence navigating narrow rural roads and gravel terrain. Flexibility to work both day and night shifts. The ability to use basic tech and pick up new systems. A team player with a can-do attitude and great customer service skills.
