# Clinical Nurse Specialist - Emergency Department at Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Southern, Southland## Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role**Clinical Nurse Specialist – Emergency Department*** **Southland Hospital permanent 0.5 FTE part time role available*** **Salary Band – $116,040 - $127,674 p.a prorata + KiwiSaver**Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.**About the Role**The Clinical Nurse Specialist will:* Provide specialist nursing care and expertise both in direct care delivery and in support to other staff in the management of a defined patient/consumer group/area of speciality practice.* Work across the organisation within a clinical specialty acting in the roles of practitioner, educator, consultant, researcher, leader/change agent and care coordinator/case manager in the pursuit of clinical excellence and improved health outcomes.* Practice both autonomously and in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team to assess, treat and manage patient/consumer health care needs.**About the Team/Service/ Location**Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora - Southern has the largest geographical coverage of all the New Zealand regions, providing services to 350,000 people in diverse communities.
