The Role I’m working with a well‑established commercial construction business with a long history and a track record across a wide range of project types and sectors. They’re looking to bring on a Quantity Surveyor who can carry the full commercial function, from estimating and tendering for work to seeing it through delivery once won. This is a hands‑on role with ownership and responsibility. You’ll be working closely with experienced senior leadership, with a genuine opportunity to grow into a key position within the business over time. The Company A respected national main contractor with a strong presence across multiple regions. They deliver projects across commercial, education, health, industrial and residential sectors, so hands‑on experience with these types of builds is highly regarded. What You’ll Be Doing Estimating and tendering for commercial construction projects Cost planning and budget development from early stage through to completion Subcontractor procurement and letting Contract administration through the build phase Managing project financials: progress claims, variations, forecasting etc Working across multiple projects as the workload builds What We’re Looking For A background in commercial construction, ideally from a Tier 2 or Tier 3 builder, or a small works environment within a larger contractor Strong technical knowledge of different trades and packages; Carpentry, Concrete, Steel etc The ability to interpret drawings and understand how a build comes together Solid estimating capability; you’ve priced work before and you know the realities of construction Familiarity with NZ construction contracts and standards is a must, and local experience is ideal A stable work history; longevity and commitment matter here Intermediate to senior level considered, but attitude and work ethic will count for a lot The business values people who know their trade, are upfront about what they know and don’t, and show up ready to contribute from day one. #J-18808-Ljbffr
