Job Description
Chef – Trinity Schools Rathkeale College We’re on the lookout for a reliable, enthusiastic Chef to join our catering team supporting the Trinity Schools in Masterton – Rathkeale College. This is a full‑time position, perfect for someone who enjoys a hands‑on kitchen role with variety. You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive team delivering quality food across busy school environments during term time, school holidays, and special venue hire functions. What we offer Up to 40 hours per week (mostly Monday–Friday, with occasional weekends) 40‑week education contract, plus additional work during school holidays for functions Key Responsibilities Prepare, cook, and present high‑quality food Deliver excellent customer service and enhance the dining experience Work collaboratively to maintain a smooth, efficient kitchen Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards Maintain stock rotation and effective kitchen systems Uphold food safety, health & safety, and company procedures Assist with meal service Identify opportunities to improve operations and customer satisfaction Help maintain kitchen equipment and facilities Step up to run the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence Support and work closely alongside the Head Chef Be confident working independently and within a team Be available for evening and weekend function work across all Trinity School sites What you’ll bring Proven experience in a commercial kitchen A positive, can‑do attitude and strong work ethic Flexibility and willingness to adapt to different environments Strong focus on quality, service, and teamwork Full manual driver’s licence (essential) Function/event experience is highly desirable Why join Cater Plus Cater Plus is one of New Zealand’s leading catering companies with over 740 team members nationwide.
