Job Description
Overview We are Woolworths Group. This team is part of the partnership with Quantium, a world‑class data science and advanced analytics business, dedicated to unlocking the power of AI and insights to reimagine retail. The wiqNZ team works across all WWNZ business units, leveraging the best of Woolworths Group and Quantium data‑science talent to solve the most complex retail challenges. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and optimise end‑to‑end AI/ML solutions and predictive models for WWNZ. Own the full project lifecycle, including problem‑solving, experimentation, design, and delivery with minimal oversight. Implement GenAI solutions, conduct ethical reviews, bias assessments, and support explainable AI methods. Perform data ETL tasks, maintain data marts, and conduct unit, functional, and debugging testing to ensure robust, error‑free solutions. Interpret analysis results in a business context and provide commercially focused recommendations. Engage with business partners and delivery teams to ensure algorithms are integrated into production systems. Qualifications Proven commercial experience in statistical and machine‑learning modelling with big data manipulation. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments. Advanced working knowledge of SQL and Python, exposure to Hadoop/Spark, and experience with cloud technologies. Hands‑on design and implementation of GenAI solutions and MLOps pipelines. Experience mentoring data‑science teams and championing best practices. Excellent negotiation, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
