Join the GCSB as a Technical Analyst (Level 1, 2, or 3) in a team that sits at the intersection of software development and analysis, and become a vital part of transforming intelligence data into actionable insights. This role directly contributes to the security of New Zealand while pushing the boundaries of technology and innovation. Responsibilities Software development : Develop and maintain solutions to support intelligence missions. Technology research : Stay updated with the latest advancements in technology relevant to our work. Complex analysis : Perform and automate complex analysis across a wide range of datasets. Telecommunications and infrastructure : Leverage expertise in these areas to drive analysis outcomes. Data insights : Glean insights from disparate data sets, identifying trends, changes, and summarising current information. Problem solving : Apply structured problem‑solving techniques to analyse complex and open‑ended questions, providing novel insights. Appointing Range Level 1: $73 684 – $78 596 Level 2: $103 009 – $109 876 Level 3: $120 359 – $128 383 Eligibility Requirements Be a New Zealand citizen for at least 10 years. Hold a current NZ residency class visa and, ideally, have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada, or Australia for at least 10 years. Be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance. Ordinarily, this means you have a 15‑year checkable background in countries that NZSIS Vetting can make meaningful and reliable checks. Salary band F $73 684 (90%) – $94 152 (115%) , Band H $103 009 (90%) – $131 622 (115%) , Band I $120 358 (90%) – $153 791 (115%). Midpoint of the salary range (100%) reflects full competence in the role.
