Job Description
Fern & Thistle is looking for a reliable, hands‑on Assistant Manager to cover 2 days per week at our historic accommodation and events property in Benhar. This role is paid at a fixed rate for the 2 rostered assistant manager days , with the option to earn extra paid hours during the day for additional work such as cleaning, bed‑making, room resets, guest support, and general property tasks. Key Duties Cleaning rooms, bathrooms, shared areas, and event spaces Making beds and preparing rooms for guest arrivals Checking rooms are guest‑ready before check‑in Helping with guest communication, check‑ins, and enquiries Supporting housekeeping, supplies, and property presentation Assisting with events, whole‑house bookings, and special requests Helping with general property tasks where needed Pay Structure Fixed rate for the 2 assistant manager days Extra hours available during the day for cleaning and other duties Extra hours paid based on experience and responsibilities Free coffee Other perks may be available We’re Looking For Someone Who Is Based in Balclutha or within 10 minutes’ drive of Benhar Reliable, honest, and able to work independently Confident cleaning and presenting rooms to a high standard Practical, organised, and good with communication Friendly, professional, and customer‑focused with guests Great with people Flexible with some weekend or short‑notice availability when required Experienced in cleaning, accommodation, hospitality, or housekeeping preferred Location: Fern & Thistle, Benhar, Otago 2 fixed assistant manager days per week Additional paid hours may be available Pay based on experience #J-18808-Ljbffr
