Job Description
Position Overview Health Care Assistant – Ward 3 Acute Frailty Unit, Wellington Regional Hospital. Full‑time, permanent, 0.8 FTE rostered and rotating. This role supports nursing staff in the Acute Frailty Unit. Key Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living under the delegation of a registered nurse. Restore and restock clinical supplies and maintain a clean environment. Observe and engage patients, recording observations and reporting relevant information. Communicate effectively and prioritise tasks to support the team. Qualifications and Experience Current legal right to work in New Zealand and a valid work/residence visa. NZQA Level 3 National Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or equivalent). Experience in delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care and implementing TeTiritioWaitangi in practice. Strong communication skills and a commitment to dignity in daily care. About the Unit The Acute Frailty Unit provides 24‑hour, 7‑day service with an interdisciplinary model of care that focuses on timely assessment, diagnosis and acute treatment planning for frail patients.
