Job Description Are you passionate about turning data into meaningful workforce insights? Do you have a background in HR, business, workforce analytics, or a related discipline? Have you got experience working with HRMS, payroll and/or finance systems, and reporting environments? Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is seeking a highly capable Senior HR Reporting & Insights Analyst to join our HR Applications, Reporting & Insights team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced analyst who enjoys working with complex data, influencing decision-making, and helping shape the future of workforce planning and people analytics across the University. In this senior specialist role, you will lead the development and delivery of strategic HR reporting, workforce analytics, forecasting, and insights that support decision‑making at all levels of the University. Working closely with Te Pūmanawa Tāngata - Human Resources, Finance, Te Tai Matihiko - Digital Solutions, and senior leaders, you will provide expert advice on data integrity, reporting frameworks, workforce trends, and remuneration analysis. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain HR reporting and analytics frameworks that support strategic and operational decision‑making. Deliver workforce analytics, forecasting, benchmarking, and modelling across areas such as remuneration, turnover, leave, absenteeism, staffing costs, and workforce planning. Produce high‑quality reporting and insights for University leadership, Human Resources, Finance, external agencies, and other stakeholders. Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reporting processes, data quality, automation, and information sharing. Contribute to strategic projects and initiatives by providing workforce data, analytics, and expert advice. You will be an experienced analyst with a strong background in HR, payroll, workforce reporting, business intelligence, or a related field. You will combine technical expertise with excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to translate data into practical insights. Key Requirements Significant experience in HR, business, workforce analytics, or a related discipline, including experience in a senior analytical role. Experience working with HRMS, payroll and/or finance systems, and reporting environments. Strong analytical and modelling skills, including workforce forecasting and quantitative analysis. Advanced reporting and data analysis skills, including SQL. Advanced capability with Microsoft technologies, including Excel, Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, and the wider Microsoft 365 suite. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
