Parnell Mentor & Companion

We’re looking for a kind, fun, and reliable mentor to spend time with a chatty and cheerful 17‑year‑old. She loves dance, music, baking, dogs, and great conversation, and would enjoy someone who can hang out, plan fun activities, and be a supportive friend and role model. This role is mostly about companionship —playing games, planning activities, and occasionally heading out to places like the beach, zoo, movies, or dance‑related activities. Gentle guidance, support and encouragement help her stay on track with plans and daily tasks. This casual role is based in Parnell and offers around 4 hours of work per week, with flexible weekday morning hours (approximately between 10am–2pm). The pay rate is $28 per hour, and the role involves spending time together, helping prepare simple snacks or meals, and planning fun and engaging activities. Support a bright young person with ADHD through encouragement and positive connection. Outgoing, patient, and easy to talk to Creative and happy to plan fun activities Interested in working with young people or neurodiversity A student in psychology, teaching, nursing, OT, social work, speechtherapy — or simply someone who enjoys mentoring teens Requirements Full driver’s licence and access to a car Comfortable around friendly family dogs Reliable, positive, and supportive This is a lovely opportunity to build a meaningful connection while gaining valuable experience supporting a young person.
