Job Description
Overview Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand is committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We offer a permanent role of 80hours per fortnight with the Tirohanga Waiora site in Glenview. Responsibilities Support tangata whaiora in developing essential life‑skills through individual and group sessions, including food preparation, house chores and safe hygiene practices. Facilitate social engagement activities to help tangata whaiora connect with others and participate in the community. Create and maintain a safe therapeutic environment, maximise therapeutic relationships, mitigate risk and use de‑escalation and emotional regulation techniques. Contribute to the overall therapeutic recovery culture of the 10‑bed residential facility. About the Team / Service Oranga Rangatira is a specialist, Maaori‑led service that delivers intensive, personalised mental‑health care. The team comprises clinical and non‑clinical staff who support our tangata whaiora on their recovery journey. Qualifications & Must‑Have Skills Competence with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to learning and growth. Experience upholding Te Tiriti principles and applying Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori in health settings. Passion for improving the lives of tangata whaiora and whanau. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary team environment. Strong understanding of Te Ao Māori preferred.
