Job Description
Location Ward B8, Waipapa Building, Christchurch Hospital Campus. About the Role We are looking for Registered Nurses to join our Ward B8 team who are passionate about patient‑centred care and are keen to advance their nursing skills and knowledge. Two fixed‑term positions are available covering parental leave. Role1:0.9FTE (36hrs per week) – available now (February 2027). Role2:0.9FTE (36hrs per week) – available now (December 2026). About the Service Ward B8 is a busy acute ward caring for patients with neurological conditions including brain tumours, head injuries, spinal tumours, movement disorders and seizures. As the largest inpatient neuroscience facility in the South Island, it is a busy medical and surgical environment caring for a complex patient group with a diverse range of neurological and neurosurgical conditions. About You Registered Nurse with recent neurosurgery/neurology or surgical experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work all shifts – Morning, Afternoon and Night. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals. Committed to providing a consistently high standard of patient care. Sound assessment and decision‑making skills. Work calmly under pressure. Excellent time management, organisational and interpersonal skills. Adaptable, flexible and solution‑focused. Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
