Consultant General Medicine Respiratory Physician – Rotorua Hospital, Health New Zealand Lakes, Permanent, Full Time. About the Role The successful applicant will be tasked with inpatient and outpatient respiratory work and will also undertake general medicine ward rounds on a regular basis, including weekend and on‑call cover, to support service and hospital outputs. The role is divided into an off‑ward component where elective work is undertaken and on‑wards managing patients. This position offers opportunities to broaden your knowledge through adaptability and engagement. About the Team / Service / Location You will join a growing team of physicians across subspecialties such as Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Palliative Care, and Oncology. The department is expanding to meet the needs of the population and seeks someone fluid and adaptable. The Lakes district is a lifestyle destination offering outdoor recreation and a multicultural community. Responsibilities Inpatient and outpatient respiratory work. General medicine ward rounds on a regular basis. Weekend and on‑call cover. Teaching, coaching, and mentoring 15 medical registrars and house officers. Support service and hospital outputs to meet national health targets. Qualifications Eligible for Vocational Registration (or Locum Tenens Special Purpose) with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) in the Internal Medicine scope of practice.
