Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Hydraulic Service Technician to join our team based in East Tamaki. This is a permanent, full-time role offering a competitive hourly rate of $38.00 to $44.00, depending on experience, with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week. The role involves the manufacture, servicing, repair, and commissioning of hydraulic and mechanical equipment both on-site and within the workshop, working across a range of major-brand hydraulic systems. Key Responsibilities Analyse, troubleshoot, service, and repair hydraulic and mechanical systems and components Manufacture, assemble, test, and commission hydraulic equipment Diagnose faults within hydraulic and mechanical systems, with or without schematics Read and interpret hydraulic and engineering drawings, including open loop, closed loop, PTO-powered, logic valve, servo, proportional, and regenerative circuits Safely operate and change accumulators Use hydraulic test, flushing, filtration, and purification equipment correctly Select, install, and commission hydraulic hoses, pipes, and tubing, ensuring correct sizing, flow capacity, and compatibility Complete job cards, timesheets, and required documentation accurately and daily Liaise with customers and internal teams to maintain clear communication and high service standards Skills and Experience Required Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in hydraulic servicing, repair, or mechanical equipment Proven knowledge of major brand hydraulic components Strong technical diagnostic and fault-finding skills Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and technical drawings Relevant trade qualification or equivalent industry experience Good communication skills and attention to detail What We Offer Competitive hourly rate of $38.00 – $44.00, based on experience Consistent, full-time hours (minimum 40 per week) Long-term, permanent employment Supportive team environment and opportunities for development Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
