Social Worker - Koropiko Ward, Mental Health Services for Older People Inpatients

Job Overview Part‑time 0.5 FTE, fixed term until October2027, located at Middlemore Hospital, Ward22 Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP) – Inpatients. Remuneration as per PSA Allied Health MECA guidelines. Responsibilities Provide acute assessment and management for older patients with mental health needs, including dementia and behavioural or psychological symptoms. Conduct ongoing psychosocial assessments, treatment and support interventions for service users on the ward. Guide families and service users through legal processes such as the PPPR Act. Work in partnership with patients and whānau to identify health goals and coordinate services to meet those goals. Collaborate with Charge Nurse Manager, Social Worker peers and the wider MHSOP team. Essential Qualifications NewZealand registration with the Social Work Registration Board and a current Annual Practising Certificate. Experience as a mental health clinician and in care coordination.
