Rural Hospital Medicine Specialist – Taupō Hospital Health New Zealand Lakes – Taupō Hospital is offering a full or part‑time position for a Rural Hospital Medicine Specialist to serve the community of Taupō. About the Role You will work across both the Emergency Department and the Inpatient Ward, applying your broad generalist knowledge in a rural setting to deliver quality, integrated care. You will be a key member of the health team in a community of approximately 42,000 residents. About the Team & Location Taupō Hospital is a vital healthcare hub featuring a 24‑hour emergency department and a range of inpatient and outpatient services. The region offers lakeside living with access to outdoor activities such as fishing, boating, tramping, skiing and mountain biking. About You – Qualifications & Experience Highly adaptable and experienced Rural Hospital Medicine Specialist. Within 3 months of obtaining your Rural Hospital Medicine qualification, or already hold the qualification. Eligible for Specialist Locum Tenens and/or Specialist Vocational Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Comfortable applying a broad generalist knowledge to diagnose and treat patients independently in a rural environment.
