The role supports a newly established executive leadership portfolio responsible for regulatory oversight, compliance, quality assurance, reviews and investigations relating to early childhood education services, private schools and hostels.As the Executive Assistant, you will be a trusted partner to the Deputy Chief Executive, ensuring priorities, commitments and work programmes are effectively coordinated and delivered. You will manage complex diaries, travel, meetings, correspondence, governance processes and confidential information while building strong relationships across ERO, the education sector and government agencies.You will also support Executive Leadership Team activities and work closely with the Chief Executive's Office to coordinate governance meetings, briefings, speaking engagements and organisational priorities. This is a highly visible role requiring excellent judgement, discretion, initiative and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.**Mōhou ake | About you**We want to hear about any of the following in your cover letter and CV:* Proven experience providing executive support to a senior leader in a complex, fast-paced environment, including managing busy diaries, travel, meetings and competing priorities.* Experience providing governance and secretariat support, including preparing agendas, coordinating papers, taking minutes and tracking actions.* Sound judgement and discretion, with demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity and remain calm under pressure.* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high quality standards.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing briefings, presentations and correspondence in plain English.* Ability to build trusted relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders and work collaboratively, showing inclusion, curiosity, initiative and customer focus.* Experience working within government or the public sector, confidence using Microsoft 365, and knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, tikanga Māori, te reo Māori and te ao Māori.**Ko mātou** **|****About Us**Te Tari Arotake Mātauranga | Education Review Office (ERO) is the government's education evaluation agency - we inform and facilitate improvement in early learning services, schools and kura.
