Job Description

This exciting opportunity is part of our multi-disciplinary team in our Tauranga office, located in Mount Maunganui and an integral part of our service delivery in the Bay of Plenty region. There are local, regional and national projects which the Team have a hand in during a normal day. You will get involved in these and gain valuable and unique project experience across the wider geotechnical team at LDE. You will be undertaking on-site geotechnical investigations new projects, preparing geotechnical reports for subdivision and building consent, undertaking construction monitoring inspections on a wide range of projects, assessing land damage or slip repair jobs for both residential and roading, and assisting or preparing retaining wall designs. All of this contributes to ensuring smooth delivery to clients. Responsibilities of the Role Work with the geotechnical team lead to deliver on time and on budget. Undertake analysis and design for key projects, including those of a specialist nature and requiring strong technical input. Prepare proposals and reports. On-site geotechnical investigations and reporting. Help in the building and maintaining client relationships. Technical Competencies Required Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or Bachelor of Science (Engineering Geology) 3‑5 years of geotechnical experience in a New Zealand consulting firm Slope stability modelling e.g. Slide2 Software user in RocScience suite, CLiq, CPeT‑IT and Microsoft office suite. Additional Desirable Qualifications Consultancy background. At least 2 years of local experience in Tauranga. CPEng application for submission inside the next 2 years. Gaining Category accreditation with TCC. You will be Eligible to work permanently in New Zealand. Client‑focused. Able to work autonomously. Confident and self‑motivated Commercially aware. You will have A full clean and current driver’s license. Confidence to carry out geotechnical investigations, including soil and rock logging and performance of in‑situ tests, preparation of geotechnical reports and undertaking site inspections during construction. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Sociability.
