About the Role Tū Māia Regional Youth Forensics Service is searching for a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Mental Health Nurse to join our dedicated team. In this rewarding role, you'll play a vital part in supporting the rehabilitation and well‑being of youth involved in the justice system. About the Team/Service/Location Tū Māia Regional Youth Forensics Service is a specialised service dedicated to providing comprehensive forensic mental health assessments and interventions for young people involved in the justice system. Our mission is to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of young people into their communities, promoting their mental health and overall well‑being. We work closely with various stakeholders, including families, schools, and community services, to ensure a holistic approach to each young person's care. About you You will be a registered Social worker, Mental Health Nurse or Occupational Therapist and have a current Annual Practising Certificate. This role is ideal for candidates who have experience and skills working with people from a range of cultural backgrounds and have worked in a Community Mental Health setting previously. Being a confident communicator and decision maker are imperative. Strong organisational skills and a high level of time management are also required in the role. A full and clean NZ driver licence is essential in this community‑based role. Hold New Zealand Registration with the relevant registration board Have a minimum of 2 years postgraduate experience Have a minimum of two years mental health experience Have advanced functional assessment skills, including sensory assessment and intervention Have strong clinical reasoning and intervention planning expertise Experience working with children and adolescents in a mental health context Excellent communication, collaboration, and report writing skills Commitment to bi‑cultural practice and a diverse work environment Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
