About the role The Respiratory and Sleep service is part of Medical Services and provides a range of sleep diagnostic and treatment options for adults with sleep disorder breathing. Scope of Role To work as part of a team coordinating home-based sleep studies. To help maintain a smooth and efficient service, including timely response to patient enquiries. Troubleshooting patient problems with their masks and machines To analyse and report on sleep studies in a timely manner, following international standards. To facilitate Group CPAP education sessions and Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) follow-up clinics in Rotorua, and twice a month in Taupo. To liaise with the Respiratory-Sleep physicians with regard to the management of complex sleep patients, including adherence to the NZTA Guidelines for Medical Aspects of Fitness to Drive. About you You should have: Experience working in a sleep service Excellent communication and computer skills Current full driver's license Bachelor of Science - Physiology/Anatomy Recognised tertiary qualification in sleep Completion of the New Zealand Sleep Certification examination (NZSCE) or the Australia & NZ Sleep Science Association competency exam Membership with the professional society for sleep physiologists - (ANZSSA) Registration and APC with the Clinical Physiologists Registration Board (CPRB) Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
