Registered Midwife Rotorua Hospital – Fixed Term to cover parental leave (6 months). Full‑time or part‑time role. About the Role and Team The role is hospital‑based and provides midwifery services across the scope of practice. This is a midwife position for those with high professional standards, who want to provide a service you are proud of and make a difference to a diverse community. You will be well‑supported by the multi‑disciplinary team. Our teams have a high level of self‑determination, meaning that changes are often driven by front‑line staff. About the Service / Location Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Lakes provides healthcare from its two modern and progressive general hospitals in Rotorua and Taupō, New Zealand. Rotorua Hospital is a medium‑sized secondary maternity service and Taupō Maternity is a primary unit. Our maternity services care for birthing women in the Lakes region, with around 1,350 births occurring in our facilities per year. Women requiring tertiary level care are transferred elsewhere. Midwives can work across their scope of practice by providing care to ante‑ and post‑natal inpatients and outpatients and work alongside their LMC colleagues to provide secondary intrapartum care. About you We seek a Registered Midwife currently holding or soon to be eligible for full registration with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand. Your current practising certificate and evidence of effective, competent midwifery practice are required. You should be able to work effectively within a busy environment with competing demands and enjoy being part of an exceptional team that delivers outstanding care for all whānau.
