Join our specialist Acquired Brain Injury(ABI) rehabilitation service, where every meal plays a part in recovery,dignity, and rebuilding independence. As Head Chef, you’ll lead a small,dedicated kitchen team delivering nutritious, high-quality meals that directlysupport the wellbeing and progress of our clients and their whānau. This is a truly rewarding role where yourexpertise goes beyond great food — you’ll contribute to positive outcomes forpeople on their recovery journey, creating meals that are both nourishing andempowering. You will work closely with our Speech LanguageTherapists (SLT), dietitian, and wider interdisciplinary team to provide safe,person-centred meals, including a strong focus on texture-modified diets andspecialised nutrition requirements. About the Role Our service is a 36-bed inpatientrehabilitation unit. Meal volumes vary depending on occupancy and individualclient needs, creating a dynamic environment that requires flexibility,organisation, and a collaborative approach to consistently deliver excellentservice. Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day kitchen operations, maintaining high standards offood quality and safety Plan and prepare menus that support rehabilitation, recovery, andoverall wellbeing Deliver meals tailored to a wide range of dietary andtexture-modified requirements Work collaboratively with clinical teams to ensure safe andappropriate nutrition Promote dignity, choice, and independence through food Dietary Expertise You will bring strong knowledge of: Texture-modified diets (e.g. pureed, minced and moist, soft diets) Gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and sugar-free diets Managing complex and individualised dietary needs in a healthcaresetting About You Experienced Head Chef or Senior Chef ready to lead Passionate about quality food and making a positive impact onpeople’s livesStrong team player with excellent communication skills Healthcare or similar experience is advantageous Join a values-driven team where your mahimakes a real difference every day.
