Job Summary As a Senior QA Engineer you will exhibit substantial practical knowledge in development and testing methodologies. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be a vital component of our product and customer delivery engineering teams, producing test artifacts in accordance with our QA practices and standards. You will be entrusted with complex test requirements and act as a testing SME for some product features. Your responsibilities will also include technical tasks such as test environment set‑up/update/management, database table/record manipulation, and test automation. This role is ideal for a self‑starter who can operate with minimal supervision and will mentor junior team members. Duties and Responsibilities Analyse requirements and other relevant references essential to testing. Prioritise testing of new features and changes, including bug fixes before the official release. Be accountable for test coordination, delivery, and reporting of assigned product features and bug fixes within the expected timeline. Proactively communicate testing blockers and risks that may affect the release in a timely manner. Contribute to test planning and estimation activities. Contribute to the development and maintenance of automated test suites. Review and identify repeatable tests for automation consideration. Promptly report, triage, and escalat e bugs, monitoring through to resolution. Collaborate with the engineering team and relevant stakeholders (product manager, professional services, UX team, etc.) to align test expectations. Attend daily stand‑ups and other agile ceremonies regularly. Assist in driving test standards, principles, and processes and provide suggestions to prevent defects before they occur. Execute functional, regression, UI, backend (API, DB) and other test types as appropriate. Continuously look for ways to improve our testing processes and overall quality of delivery. Consult with the quality engineering principal for testing guidance. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Substantial knowledge of industry‑recognised test processes and standards (e.g. ISTQB, ISO, RST, CSTE, MoT). Proficiency in SDLC, STLC, and test types (sanity, system, integration, regression). Practical knowledge of test automation concepts and frameworks. Ability to plan and execute complete testing cycle activities on various platforms (Web, API, Cloud, Mobile, etc.). Ability to prioritise and manage multiple/parallel test requirements. Strong investigative ability. Ability to set up and manage test environments and test data. Substantial API testing experience including security components. Substantial database testing experience. Familiarity with non‑functional testing concepts (performance, security, usability, accessibility, etc.). Clear verbal and written communication skills. Experience mentoring and coaching QA peers. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to handle technical information. Required Education and Experience 5+ years of test experience, including complex integration. Broad testing experience covering functional, system, usability and regression testing. Proficiency in QA methodologies, test design, defect lifecycle and management. Substantial experience with at least one test management tool (Ado, Jira, Zephyr, TestRail, Quality Center). Experience in testing techniques such as static, black‑box and white‑box. Significant experience working in an Agile development environment. Good understanding of database concepts and experience with SQL queries. Good understanding of API concepts and experience testing API protocols and endpoints. Experience running and refactoring automated tests. Preferred Education and Experience Testing certifications or boot‑camp training (ISTQB, RST, MoT). Test automation framework development and maintenance (Selenium, Playwright, UFT, RFT, Cypress, Tosca). ERP system testing (SAP, Oracle, Infor, D365 FinOps). Familiarity with CI/CD concepts.
