Senior Quantity Surveyor - Consultancy

We are partnering with a leading international construction consultancy that continues to grow across New Zealand. With a strong pipeline of secured work and an impressive portfolio of projects spanning commercial, healthcare, education, infrastructure, residential and mixed‑use developments, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Christchurch team. This is more than a project delivery role – you’ll become a trusted advisor to clients, help mentor and develop junior team members, contribute to business growth, and play a key role in the continued success of a highly respected consultancy. What You’ll Be Doing Provide commercial leadership from feasibility through to final account. Carry out cost planning, estimating, procurement, contract administration and value engineering. Prepare financial reporting and provide strategic commercial advice to clients. Work closely with consultants, contractors and project teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully. Identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and support future business growth. Mentor and develop junior team members. What We’re Looking For Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. 7 years of Quantity Surveying experience. Strong cost planning, estimating and commercial management skills. Experience working on major construction projects. Proficiency with CostX or similar industry software. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. A proactive, solutions‑focused approach. A person who enjoys mentoring others and contributing to team development.
