About the role Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting an International Engagement Senior Tutor to join Te Puna Hauora - School of Health on a 5-month fixed‑term part‑time basis. The role will commence as soon as possible. The successful candidate will have understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the bicultural context of Aotearoa New Zealand, relevant academic qualifications, experience supporting student learning in tertiary or equivalent settings, experience in culturally sustaining and mana‑enhancing practice, experience working with diverse student groups, including international students. Supporting the growing international student cohort, especially entrants to postgraduate health programmes, the role involves working closely with Programme Directors and academic staff across the School, contributing to the development and delivery of ongoing academic and pastoral support for international students, supporting teaching activities in postgraduate programmes (including the Master of Health), facilitating tutorials or workshops, and helping students engage with course content, assessments, and academic expectations. About you Key qualities and experience you bring include: relevant postgraduate degree in a health or related discipline and experience supporting student learning, effective engagement and support for students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, strong communication and interpersonal skills, proactive attitude and capability to work both independently and collaboratively, commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive practice, experience supporting international students or working in tertiary education contexts (highly desirable).
